try... go into your system preferences

click on sound

then click on Line In - Audio line- in port

sometimes it resets so you have to do it again...

i'm not familiar with logic or any software for that matter, lol but it is a music & audio production software... i'm sure you can record into it, arrange tracks, and add virtual instruments to it, then master to cd.... i suck at software, i just don't get it, lol... go to http://forums.creativecow.net/ they have logic tutorials here.... good luck 8)

Tracking out your beats should give you a good starting point... then you can put automated effects on em and stuff... beef em up and what not with EQ or comp... or put accapella tracks on em and make some remixes.

Without some kind of midi controller it's gonna be tough to really take advantage of the virtual instruments. M-Audio makes a grip. I would recommend one of the Axiom controllers... they have a really nice feel to their keys for the price range.

yeah the axioms are tight. feels much more like a real instrument than, say, the oxygens. pretty cheap too.

Axioms look real nice to me, it's like a trigger finger and midi keys. I think they have a nice weight so that they don't slid around while you jamming out.

yeah either the mac system preferences - or i think maybeyou can change it in the logic preferences as well (which probably would make sure it was set to your preference everytime you open logic),

you have to switch from microphone to audio input, can't have both at the same time.. . at least i cant on my macbook.

the axiom is a good controller,

It has really good aftertouch, quite possible to control values with a bit of ease.
the pads are tough, you gotta hit em quite hard

the reason i bought one is the keyboard is protected by its chunky case and it has pretty tough knobs too, so it wont get damaged when moving it around (which i do alot)

If its just for studio use, get one bigger than the 25, cos the 25 doesn't hve the 8 faders on it, just the knobs/buttons - and 8 faders are something i always feel i need.

no doubt. I got the 61 for studio and have been really happy with it... keeping the oxygen8 for a travel banger. 8)
