it's easy to name 3 producers / Hip Hop artists

but outside that realm .. who inspires your sound / makes you wanna become better at your craft the most ?

I've got

*Rick James
*Anthony 'Pure Silk'
*Maurice White

1) I’m with Ralph on Daft Punk , when I was showed Interstellar 5555 . I think that was my first experience outside of the hip-hop/r&b genre that I grew up with. There videos are inspiring as well Da Funk and Around the World are my favorites.

2) Over the last year or 2, I got into Black Sabbath, and I have yet to find another band that I can play all the way through. That Master of Reality album is untouchable to me. The entire sound of it throughout, the song structure and the lyrical content . Ozzy had flow and the entire band had soul .

3) Humans in general, everyone has different musical tastes , and I have been introduced to so much music that way. Almost everyone has a song that’s has changed their life or got them through to tough times; that inspires to create that next sound that has the power to affect someone emotionally , physically, and spiritually.

Bob Dylan- got into him same time I got into J Dilla and MF DOOM. Was and still is a huge influence.

Minutemen- there music of course, but also there aesthetic /sense of humor I relate to a lot.

And tie for third...

Father John Misty/ Parquet Courts- in terms of current artist out now, very inspired by both lyrically. And I’m always interested in what there going to do next.

Thinking about this for a bit, ain't easy.

1. No doubt Bob Dylan

after that any of these could be at the 2 or 3:

Dave Matthews/CCR/Neil Young/Sublime/Willie Nelson/Tool/Nirvana

I couldn’t boil it down to 3. Was staying away from musical influences, but had to include Marley for all his other influence.
