I'm aware that the 224 has scale pitching but which one has the better pitch? Which one has the widest range?

pitch as fx is ok on the 224
pitch as tuning is very good
pitch scale is very good and cool as on mpcs or sp1200 or yamaha su10
the st224 is more comparable with the sp303 because of the resampling and the (poor) sequencer.
anyway on the st224 you can copy samples between pad, without workarounds, you can resample sequences and you can samples while the sequencer is running. one negative point is maybe that you can use only 60sec per song (while you have 16mb diposeable in total...). you have also bpm sync wich is sometimes useful ; same thing for the time stretch fx, more similar to the akai s-series or the mpcs than the roland SP timestretch.

ST 224 FX better than SP202 and about the same as SP303. Nothing great and has what you need. Compressor and filters. You gotta remember Zoom has made guitar FX pedals for decades, so the quality is good for what is offered.

ST224 Pitch is better than SP202 because it can be chromatically pitch scaled.

If you are trying to compare the ST224 to the SP202, the sampletrak is like owning 2 SP202s. The features aren't really comparable though.

I think the 202 has a better pitch than the ST.
BUT...
There are more than one way to mess with the pitch on SampleTrak. (As mentioned earlier above.)

I believe the SampleTrak is a far superior machine than SP202.
Plus, you can buy it for about half the price.

How so? Is it just more natural? Is the range you can pitch up or down more wide on the 202?
