I have a couple of sticky gunked up 505 pads. Does anyone have any experience opening up these units for pad cleaning or know of another method to clear out gunk?

I took mine apart years ago, it doesn't catch dust inside, Roland made them real good. The pads is a rubber sheet, if it gets gunked up, I wouldn't worry about it getting on the mother board because the rubber is like a blanket covering the sensors. So a can of Contact spray from your local Home Depot will clear that shit up. Not the dust spray, this stuff is an electronic cleaner, unplug your 505, spray the pads and allow an hour or more to dry. Also getting in there with Q-tips will help too, but the stuff will knock out everything.

Big ups to both yall. Definitely gonna save that pic for future reference in case I have to perform surgery on my 505. I'm gonna try the contact spray from home depot.
