I HAVE A HUGE PROBLEM HELP!!! so I recently picked up a SP404SX Mainly To Use It For Live Sets...My Plan Is I'll Continue Making Beats On My DAW Then Use The SP-wave converter to transfer my beats to My SP...Yes Sounds Simple.....But Could Someone BREAKDOWN the process Of A Live Set Using The SP...Like Step By Step...On What I Need....I've Seen A lot Of My Favourite Producers Like Dibia$e And FLY Lotus Use Ableton...Could Someone Break That Down Aswell....Pictures Would Be Great Thanx.

To set up a live set, you mitigate anything you think you might have a problem nailing live. Run through your tracks and either practice that stuff or prerecord it. Some guys will make a loop on a pad in abelton and just tweak it with the effects for a few minutes. Other guys set up their shit to live smash all the pads for all their tracks. There's no 'way' to set something up. Play to your strengths, minimize stuff you think you might fuck up so you don't stop the show when it happens, do what you can and have fun.

I've been having the same issue recently. This is what i'm trying to do: If you are using a DAW you can create short clips of each instrument or groups of instruments and associate each one to a Pad on the SP (e.g. Pad 1 - drums; Pad 2 - bass and so on). Since each loop has exactly the same lenght, you can trigger and loop them on the SP and they will always be on time. Mess with the effects and you're done.

Hope i've helped.
Greetings from Brasil.

I like the straight cuts approach too so i'll start like that and work my way up to the fx switching on separate layered pads type stuff

I'm curious, do most people play live beats using the SP e.g. live fingerdrumming etc? Or is it fairly normal for people to say load up a bunch of tunes on the pads and sort of mess with the FX whilst cycling through the beats?

I've only recently got an SP but i feel like i'd love to perform live with it when I am confident enough using it.

I have drums on 1 pad and then all the other elements on the others individually then just trigger and effect as I go,
