Over the last few months I've picked up a few guitar pedals off of ebay: danelectro French toast octave fuzz, pastrami overdrive, fab echo and a behringer vp1 phaser.

The other day I also bought an old 2007 macbook and a 12 month max msp student license cause I need both for university.

Sometime in the next few weeks I'm hoping to get a Zoom H2n to take out and about to capture field recordings for ambient sounds and weird percussion stuff. Maybe after that I'll buy a cheap DIY synth kit or something from bleep labs. I've had a shruthi kit from mutable instruments for over a year now that I'm too scared to build cause I need more soldering practise ha!!

Yeah, I plan to build it over the summer probably. Just need to get a lot of practise in before cause I don't wanna mess it up.

those shruthi kits look fuckin sick as all hell, but i do not want to do that much soldering. i bought a novation mini nova recently. super hyped on it, some cheesy presets that were probably out of date with the trendy genres they were intended for 3 months after release but a lot of usable stuff in the presets and pretty godamn capable sound design engine and lots of on the fly tweakability with all the modulation routing stuff.

got an mpc 1000 last week. i love my 4000, but ever since getting an sp, i've only used the sequencer in the thing. waste of firepower. 1000 does the same job without being the size of a fiat. i'll probably have the 4000 up in the marketplace section soon.

mines has akai os, which is enough for now. maybe i'll get the free jj over spring break, but really, i don't need it. i do all chopping on asr x, and all effects on that and sp, so it's not like i need the non destructive chopping or ring modulator. but that sequencer i need. swing, track mutes, and midi in that little box that could easily be my only gear if the others broke down. mpc is no where near as fun as sp, but when using it for that sequencer, you got the dynamic duo.

Yeah, when i first got the mpc i didnt really like chopping on it cus i didnt get the same chops as the sp, but i eventially figured out some tricks to make it work how i want it to. Some of the general workflow stuff is faster on jjos, but if you arent chopping it doesnt really matter too much, but theres some nice littoe functions that are fantastic like assigning the sliders to whole sequencer tracks or pad banks instead of a single pad and DAW style quantize % function.

im so sick and tired of those little 1/8 to 1/4 inch adapter being bugged out and broken right out of the pack. so I grabbed this kit, Im expecting it to be crappy but who knows maybe it will work.

sometimes I buy headphones just for the gold 1/8 inch adapter.
