If the Linn DrumII is anywhere near $1000 I'm going to buy it. But like I said just wait after akai is beat down by the LinnDrumII roland will make something dope to compete with it they're just waiting for the Roger and Dave to make the main part of their sales and then try to compete after the hysteria.

check out this new akai drum machine(not mpc): http://www.akaipro.com/prodXR20.php

Maybe if its not expensive, it could be paired up with the 404 and would be like using an MPC's sequencer with the 404s sampler.

saw that one too.I don't like it. It looks cheap and like a try to create something like the roland 404 with those lightning pads and shit.

I want try that out. If it's not too expensive I might buy that even if it is just an attempt to copy roland. It might be a nice mix between the 404 and an mpc500.

Thanks for that sonicstate link, blast. I couldn't watch the video as I dont have sound capabilities here at work, but the article there makes it seem like it will read in real time from compact flash cards, like an SP.

Quote:
16 megabytes of internal flash memory exist for sound storage, but because sound data is read directly from flash, expanding sound memory is accomplished merely by plugging a compact flash card into the rear panel slot.

That is ill. Sounds like it plays sounds from CF in real time. That's what I hate most about my MPC, loading sounds up takes a few minutes, whereas I turn my SP on and I can play sounds instantly.

I don't think I'll be getting it because it's probably going to be expensive as fuck, but that's still ill.

Yeah, I saw it doesn't sample so fuck that. It's going to priced around $500 which is too much for a none sampling drum machine, if the mpc 500 cost $500 that would be worth the money but what the fuck is akai thinking charging so much for their machines.

according to the shit I've recently read:
the linndrum with the DS env will be 1699 bucks and the linndrum without the env it will be around 1000 bucks.

I'd love the DS version, because he makes some of the greatest instruments out there.

I'm already saving money for the beast.
