I'd take Thunder Cats, but who'd win in Thunder Cats vs. Voltron or Robotech vs. Gundam or Kimba the White Lion vs. The Lion King?.

Anybody ever notice that the Thundercats vocal tracks are slowed down? I always thought the characters talked painfully slow as a kid. I've got a record with some scenes from TC on it, and if I speed the record up a little bit, it sounds exactly like normal conversation. The timbre of the voices sounds more natural, too. I bet the producers slowed the vocals in order to take up more space, and thus have to do less writing/animation for each episode.

But I have to say, Super-Saiyan Goku and crew could probably handle the Thundercats. The battles in DBZ usually result in entire planets exploding or dimensions collapsing.

Yeah, I did notice that too, it's a sweet and cheap trick to get the sound they want.

On older Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series you had that too sometimes for the bad guys with low voices and the turtles themselves sometimes seem to have vocal tracks that were even sped up a little bit.

Off course, then came the Chipmunks series which perfected the use of that trick and soon a lot more series used it to sound different (or something like that, don't actually know if the Chipmunks were the first to do that). ;)

Oh man, "CobraLALALALALA!!!" I've watched the GI Joe Movie once since I was a kid, and I remember that part cracking me up. That whole battle cry never really caught on in the actual cartoon series, right?

GoBots? The most significant thing I remember about GoBots is that sometimes the characters would shift from vehicle to robot exactly like the toy counterparts. This meant that when a character changed from a car to a robot, he might be face down on the ground and have to actually slowly pick himself up from the ground to get upright. Whereas the Transformers would usually come out of their vehicle state doing flips and handsprings so they could land guns blazing.

I'm surprised GoBots haven't already made a comeback, though.
