why'd you decide on a 303?

haven't bought it yet, but I'm guessing you mean why I want a sp 303 as opposed to a 404...
Mainly the cost...

you can get a 404 delivered for 133. then two more payments of 133 30 and 60 days from now at americanmusical.com if you're interested. that's how i got mine. worth it for the ability to sequentially load patterns if nothing else.

I got my 404 used (but practically new) off eBay for $260 usd, about the same price a 303 goes for on there. If your in the states you can look at http://www.musicgoround.com they usually have 303's around the $200-250 mark.

Oh yeah dig the beats to man. Light was especially laid back.

I live in europe, so things are a little harder to come by... the cheapest place I can find is Ebay.com only problem is I have to pay duties.
do you guys know of an american shop that ships to europe?

on another note... It seems like you guys think I'm crazy for choosing a 303. Is it really that bad?

yeah i red that :)
the only difference I could find is the bpm looper and djfxlooper (battery power and extra pads also, but that's not an issue)
and I really donn't know what these to things actually do... Tried searching the forum. Can't seem to find any info on it.

the pattern sequencer is really improved at one point. on the 303 you push pattern 1, then when you want pattern 2 to start you have to press pattern 2 perfectly in time. But on the 404 you press pattern1 then you can press patern 2 BEFORE pattern 1 is finiched and it will pla pattern 1 finish and then pattern 2 in perfect timing..

this feature is really important for me!

being able to queue up a pattern to play after the current one gets finished

i think this byitself is good enough reason to buy the 404 over the 303, this makes all our patern changes very smooth. your start pattern 1, then you press pad 2. now on the 303 you will have to press the pad 2 in perfect time to make your pattern change in time.. but on the 404 it will play the pattern 1 finish and then the pattern 2 will start in perfect time..

snippet beat was real nice. looking foward to hearing your work on the 303.

light beat wasnt chopped too smooth. i dont know if that was intentional or not. also that sample has been abused a few times if thats the sample i think it is. but it was a cool beat.

I agree. The 303 is not to be slept on. But the 404 offers very significant improvements. Especially in the sequencer.
