... some dude at my work said that I couldn't make a remix on a 505. Because it was a "weak" machine. He picked the song, that kid kudi track day n night. So dont hate.

I only used the 505 and made it in 2 1/2 hours later and 50 bux richer :D

check the space www.myspace.com/emcitie

track is rain day n night mashup (stomp remix)

holla..

edit: haha.. ah man. 50 bux!

... also.. I realize the track is garbage. But I'm about to cash this 50 bones in for pennies and roll around in them.

Nice remix. A bit of a style clash there and vocals are a bit low volume, but it's nice.

I'm convinced you can use just about every sampler for a good remix, as long as they can chop, BPM sync or time stretch. If you stay in the same tempo, you don't even need BPM syncing / time stretching.

Lol, I wonder why that guy said the 505 is weak.

yeah it doesnt quite fit. Sorta forced em together, added my own drums and layers etc. Chopped and sequenced. Sorta chaotic, but it sounds sorta good like that. haha.

Also using the original sample from that swv track instead of sampling the track was hard to do.

OG kush here I come :D

Hey man, small question. I guess you do not, but do you happen to have an acapella of that day n night song?

I've been remixing a bunch of songs lately as well, and was looking for that acapella amongst others, but I only found one with like 30 seconds. :P

nah man i searched for it... half the reason the vocals are so low is cause i had to use the isolator a bit to get everything to come together a bit more.

I'll keep an eye out though...

You mean with a Isolator and Center Canceler FX? I haven't tried to extract vocals from an original song, but I am guessing it's fairly possible with some tweaking and tricks.

Anyone got some advanced advise for that?

You can do it in audacity, there are tutorials all over the place for extracting vocals from a song. There will be artifacts, but if you mix it with your beat properly the result should be acceptable enough.
