I need to rethink how I chop shit so my stuff doesn't sound so sketchy. Just playing around/relearning my limited pleb knowledge. I wasn't able to use my SP the past month.

I'm moving onto another idea but I was curious if this has any musical value for anyone. Negative or constructive feedback is always welcome.

yo . nothing wrong with that Brof. nice beat. maybe introduce a bass line over the top . not sure of your setup or workflow so can't really comment

.. oh yea .. you could add a bit of reverb over the top- to add a very subtle decay(could help beat fuse together.not a criticism, cos there ain't nothing wrong with your work . just an option

thanks man. that's exactly the kind of suggestions i'm after really. I still just stumbling through this.

also, fair enough - my setup is just a 404 for now. really my first and only piece of hardware. so far anyway.

I try to make a beat via the sequencer on the 404, record it onto my pc, and then sample it onto a single pad so i can record samples via resample. I'm sure there is another approach but that's how I'm doing it now.

You're doing alright, just keep at it and be persistent.

yes indeed^^^

. make the beat . record to PC . record that back into SP.
chop bass sounds/notes . playback beat . with improve bass line from pads back into PC

or record beat into PC . record another track of bass to mix with that . and arrange how you like it in DAW (if working with multi tracking program - cubase for example
