yep, all 404. I didnt even use a multitrack recorder or anything. mastered using the 404's effects and then taken straight off the cf card.

J.D. quality as usual :-) you said you got this straight from the cf card does this mean that this is not a pattern but rather a sample thats been built up with resampling ?

thanks. and yeah, all resampling.

Although, i just realized i uploaded the wrong file as that was an overly compressed resample that wasnt intended for use. so try picture the track as something a little easier on the ears.

Their probably really obvious, but just things like playing with the polyphony when resampling.

Say you chop up a loop and you want the individual samples to cut out the previous sample when being played. You can resample yourself playing all the individual samples and make a new sample in which you could loop up in the sequencer, or just keep resampling.

Since the 404 only allows you to play 2 samples at a time when resampling, you must make a new silent sample and then play that at the same time when ever you play those individual loop cuts so it cuts out the previous sample.

and now you have a new sample of a chopped up loop.

hope that made sense...

The underlying sample is nice...the drums need work IMHO.

Yeah, I understand. well, if you listen to my stuff... most of it is still quantized... making loose, but good drums is hard. Try quantizing certain parts...and playing others without quantizing. Sometimes I quantize only the snare... and leave the hats and BDs loose.

yeah thats usually the way i do it. But with this track, i didnt use the sequencer and just kept resampling over and over. so quantize wasnt really an option..

Nice work keepin it short and to the point, I like that. This track was fairly dope, wasn't really feeling that "l l l l l llllll" thing after awhile... I'd limit it to the intro
