Hey..

I'm new to the Sp606 sampler, I give you mad props for joining the SP! However, I see this huge improvement for the Sp404 and I was wondering, Will there be a huge improvement for the Sp606? I do have some ideas..

More polyphony

The ability to transfer your pattern 4 tracks to PC into individual wavs for better mixing purposes.( Example: you create your pattern using the 4 tracks then transfer to PC then it automatically splits them up so you have 4 seperate wavs inside a folder)

Improving the sample tempo-matching function

Direct USB transfer samples to pads, (bypass the Compact Flash Cards it saves time, great storage feature though)

Midi Edit functions would be nice

Customise your sample names, Can they be named, I could have missed that function if they can please dis-regard my request?

Thanks for listening..

Please This is only suggestions.. I'm very happy with the Roland Sp606..

Also I hear talks about a Sp707? IS that true can you tell me what features that will contain? Is there a picture?

I think that the reason why they would even consider making such a program for the 303/404 is because it's somewhat limited and one of Roland's biggest sellers. The 606 is already a pretty comprehensive production tool between the onboard fx and usb/computer capabilities. I also really doubt Mike would leak trade secrets like a new sampler design or images, He works for Roland and could be fired and more likely fired and sued for giving out such information.[/i]

I'm sure they are busy making new hardware all the time, but we don't officially know until they go make the public announcements. I don't think we heard much about the coming of a SP-555 long before it was there right?

nah, it just showed up on the rolandus.com site..

plus there is a big diffrence in giving us a software program (something the 606 alread have) then upgrading polphony and stuff.. thats not what they are doing for the 404..

i really doubt polyphony could be "updated"
that seems more like a processing/hardware issue

when u say polyphony, u mean sendin out midi files? that might could be done without a major problem. hey, in defense of updates for whatever; they have done this for many things(sp-808, br-532) after they were out of prod.. i don't see why this couldn't happen. and what if there is a 707 coming? wouldn't roland want to spice up the 606 to help get it out of the stores.
cheers

nah polyphony refers to how many 'voices' or pads can play at once

One thing they COULD do is make P606 save Wav files. Software; easy.

I personally think it's been abandoned though...

The P606 software is garbage, I truly don't see how cakewalk can spend teh time and effort.. I have both Kinetics 1 & 2 and the sp606 rocks with it.. The sp606 make K2 (Kinetic 2) so much better.. I feel cakewalk should have bundled K2 with it. oh well.. The P606 is still a great software for what it does.. Can you rewire P606? If so then in your software host, you can save it as a wav file

So the Sp606 is a dead issue huh? Even though Mike can't tell us about the Sp707.. it's on Roland's website, so Mike you should be able to tell us something about it.

Yeah, you're right - at this point bundling K2 with the 606 would be a good move to get rid of those last units... I have K2 but it sucks that you have to pay for something that really should just come with the machine..
