Hi there folks,

Not sure where to post this. I'm trying to record stuff from the SP-555 to Sonar LE. Now the problem is anything I get into Sonar LE gets messed up, as in sped up a lot and it's missing parts in recording. There's a whole bunch of 'stuttering' recorded stuff when I try to record in Sonar LE, but not the smooth stuff I have in my SP-555.

In other words... for some reason recording in Sonar LE messes up my tracks .

Anyone got suggestions on how to fix this or suggestions for better recording software??

Perhaps there's some 'feature' I don't know about in Sonar LE that automatically changes everything.. :-p

this is probably a "latency" issue involving sonar le and your computer
theres a message board for sonar users
http://forum.cakewalk.com/tt.asp?forumid=36

go there and search around and you can find some solutions that should take care of it.

thanks for your reply! Weird thing is, I've got no issues whatsoever recording in Audacity ... so latency seems a bit strange doesn't it?

( The Sonar LE forum didn't quite help me out, sorry.. my harddisks are far from full, I've defragmentated it yesterday and no other tasks are running that eat up CPU power.. in fact I've got a massively powerful PC.. so really, that's not causing this. Soundcard stuff on my 3D card (ATI HD2900XT) is disabled. )

Anyways, i'm kinda new on this, so if anyone has some other suggestions, let me hear them! :D

You have to use a certain ASIO setting in Sonar LE with the 555. Also if you read the 555 manual it will tell you how to set the 555 up for USB audio and how to have it either be the master or slave clocking device.

More than likely its the ASIO settings in Sonar LE. We shot the 555 video using Sonar LE with the 555 and it works great.

I belive the 555's manual covers useage with Sonar LE as well.

Mmmm, seems I got it figured out but didn't know it.

Just to clarify my previous problem, what I was trying to do, was use the SP-555 both as the device to record from ánd to playback on through the phones. Seems that doesn't work well... however the minute I turned on the output back to the PC speakers there wasn't a latency/stuttering problem anymore. :)

Somehow too bad though that I can't hear what I'm doing without having to switch speakers (i.e. headphones to PC-speakers). Is there a way to set things up so I can use the SP-555's headphone output only or perhaps the PC speakers output only??

Since it's working now I don't feel like messing around with the settings too much, so I'd thought I ask if it's even possible before changing things again.
