I haven't gone through all of the pages in here so I don't know if it was mentioned, but I went to a production workshop and Mike Gao was there to talk about his iphone/ipad apps - He has some realllly cool stuff on the way but until that comes out he has this app called Vocal Beater and its pretty dope.

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/vocal-be ... 44110?mt=8

It's an app that allows you to beatbox into it, and it makes a midi track of your beatboxing that you can e-mail to yourself and use it however you like. Velocity sensitive too. Unfortunately I don't have an iphone to try it with but I'm gonna get my friend to download it soon hah.

I will check out Vocal Beater. I have been having fun beat boxing with SynthTronica using the iPad mic. It is cool how I can harmonize my beats and get this really sick electro sound. I have been using iTunes to send my files from SynthTronica over to Filtatron which is a pain but the dev says copy & paste is coming soon at least.

Hi... (sorry for my english, it's bad)

I wish to have an application to make Beatmaking, but I want to import my own samples from my computer. The app "DJ sampler" do it, but there is a great deal of latency...

Is there a good (and easy) application?
Where is it the management with I-tunes who's bad?
Ipas is not (yet) a computer, so maybe it's not possible (???)

Thanx ;)

Hey dude Intua's Beatmaker 2, Nanostudio and Electrify are the best for using your own samples in my opinion.

I had kinda hinted at this in a different thread, but I guess this one might seem more appropriate. Ove the past 8 months I've been coding an iPad sampler. I've gotten over the hassles, and now see the light at the end. It's release is eminent. I put tons of work into this bitch, and it really pays homage to all the lofi heads around here. In any case, if anyone is interested... I'll need some beta testers. If you have something like a iMic or compatible USB 1.0 device to use with the camera connection kit that is even better... as you can sample with a line in vs. the microphone. I can vouch that the iMic works perfect, as I cam sample vinyl right into the iPad, no problem. I've still got some licensing stuff to settle, documentation to write, and a few more buttons (with certain features) to code... but I'm at the point where it needs to be released. Besides, I think my wiiiffffeee has had enough of me being stuck in front of the laptop.

Anyway, this isn't coming from some massive company spitting out apps, just a fellow SP head. I wrote it cos basically it's want I've always wanted in lofi boxes like the SP, SampleTrack, and what not. So, shoot me a PM if you are interested in testing at some point in the near future.. or just post up right here.

Still working on a name btw.

@IIIII, that's pretty sick. It's an awesome use of the accelerometer.

Has anybody checked out NanoStudio v1.2? It's incredible. Blip just gave us 16 instrument tracks for $5 In-app. This means you can potentially have 256 pads, 48 fx buses each with assignable comp, EQ, verb, delay/flange, and waveshaper. Insane...

Just did a gig with my iPad, triggering sampleLab with Akai lpd-8, and played Korg iMS-20 with Roland fp-4, both thru USB and camera connection kit.

I tried to use beatmaker2 at first but its to unstable for live use. SampleLab did work, and automagic mapped the Akai lpd-8 pads to the corresponding onscreen triggers( 2 rows of 4 on both soft and hardware, potmeters were all mixed up ...)

Is there an app for that? or should a Midi Learn function be implemented in all music software?

Still, beatmaker is far superior to sampleLab when it comes to sampling.

An iPad version is rumored, hopefully more stable, and gui redesigned to take full advantage of the larger screen.

Btw, sold my sp606, and bought an iPad instead, no regrets, but i am hoping, since roland seem to discontinue almost all hardware samplers, that they catch up with akai and make the first decent ipad sampling app, and a mv-style dockingstation with audio proper audio i/o.

i just picked up the akai synthstation lil 25 key controller. pretty great way to interface with synth apps on the pod / phone. the synthstation app is...okay...but there are some other, 3rd party apps that work as well. i've actually been having a blast with this little thing.

anyone else tried it out?

ive been on the borderline of grabbing one and not. Its only 99 bucks and it might be great with nanostudio. Be nice if they had one as small as those korg micro boards with the keys and the pads. Then you could have a pocket studio instead of a bookbag studio.
