that's great. It is a good vibe on this forum and everyone is getting the max out of their sp-samplers. It would be great if you checked around this forum for tips in developing the sp-samplers, new models and stuff. I think this is great by Roland!

Yo I got a question Mike. I tried out the 555 at guitar center and it seemed like the timestrech was improved from the 404. Is this true ? Or was I just getting lucky with the preset sounds ?

Frantic

Theres definitely an imporvement on the timestretch as well as ALL the MFX and the sample engine. The new Super filter is vastly improved over the 404's filter. The 555 uses a new type of chip for its engine over the 404.

The Sp-555 looks pretty incredible. mainly because of the velocity pads, usb connectivity, new effects(especially the "lo fi comp") and the phantom powered mic input.

I would snap one up instantly if it wasnt double the price of the 404 over here in Australia. Its abit ironic how the sp series was always a cheaper and simpler alternative to these monster grooveboxes like the mpc/mv-8800 etc..
