in harder better faster stronger they have that cool electro voice, and I was wondering if the 404 has some effects that could turn a normal singing voice or sample in something like that.

for those who don't remember the song:

It sounds like some sort of vocoder, 'cause madlib uses one to make his voice sound robotic like that on some quasimoto joints.

vocoders tend to benefit from a little distortion being applied to the voice pre-effect, so you could use the 404 to run a mic into, apply your customary distortion/overdrive, then feed the output into the vocoder

other than that the voice transfomer can do some neat tricks, but it's not as dynamic and responsive as a vocoder

The rocktron banshee is probably the best out there.

Talkbox with auto-tune.

If you have a V-Synth GT or V Synth XT Rack , you can do it in there as well since it has the Vocal Designer card built into it. That has the Talkbox emulators in it without having to use a tube in your mouth. Also using a talkbox takes alot of practice , its no walk in the park , its a true skill.

Thanks for the advice!

I went to G.C. and tried severel stuff and found that the microKORG (which I always wanted) has a vocoder that gets me a pretty good result.

I think I'll get one.
