it works really well. I still prefer the 404 method also tho. I think having a mark button aswell as autochop and wave editor would be sick !

Yeah most of the time the chops are good, and it is surprisingly quick too. A unit with both methods would be sick as. Are you listening, Roland???

so what if you just have a tune and you want to lift an arbitrary bit? do you still set the mark then tell it to autochop? is there any way to just grab a certain bit w/out autochopping?

Sure, there's a full waveform editor that zooms right in as far as you need, so taking a sound out of a sampled piece is easy peasy. :)

+ 3 MFX engines, a more powerful multiband master compressor, more advanced software, A D-beam that can be assigned to any parameter (like an MCunit), better timestretch...etc.

Already it looks like it's gonna be at least $2K...

midiaddict, but it's just speculation... nobody really knows anything about it so it's just what people want/expect really.

so, i ended up going with the 404...
i did have my eye on a second hand 606, but it went from under me...
picked up the 404 for a pretty good price, and im so glad i did..
i LOVE this thing!!!
within half an hour of having it out of the box.. i had made and chopped my own samples and arranging them into patterns...
this thing is ridiculously easy to use... quick and painless...
cant believe its taken me this long to get around to getting one...
cheers for the advice everyone... 8)
