Hello Sp members,
I'm not doing to well with re-sampling breaks to make them grittier using my SP-404. So if someone is willing to help me understand.
Here is a drum break that I have sampled into my SP-404.
With this file I have simply just sampled this drum break into the SP-404 in mono.

drum break processing.wav - 0.34MB

Thanks

the sample source sounds good already, maybe re-sample the break with the lo-fi effect on there and tweek the knobs & resample again with a ring modulation and tweek the knobs again to give it that sp-1200 type of sound. "just experiment with it..." can anybody on here threw some suggestions on here to help this cat out....? peace....

its sounding pretty good, but if yr looking for gritty, try using the drive/filter fx, or the vinyl sim fx.

i mean, there are a buncha ways to grit-ify this, you know? have the fx will bring up the destruction on the file, some you'll like some you won't. resample a bunch of different options?

good luck.

I would chop it up into individual hits and then try resampling in lo fi at like 8-10 bits, another thing I like to do is just sample some vinyl static to a pad and then resample it underneath the drum hits.

Thanks for the responses. I'm working on the break with all the feedback thus far. I have some more questions that the manual didn't explain well to me.

What's the sampling rate and bit for the standard Lo-Fi button lit setting the SP-404? I didn't see the specs for this in the manual.

As for the effects 14. Lo-Fi
How the settings of the Lo-Fi Effect work from left to right when tweaking Ctrl 1 knob = Sample rate and Ctrl knob 2 = Bit.

For Ctrl 1 if turned to the left is that the lowest sampling rate?
For Ctrl 2 if turned all the way to the right is this the highest bit?
