Hi all, this is my first post on these forums and I wonder if somebody could assist me. I'm currently making beats in my SP404SX by live sampling synths and layering them with drum samples. My current problem involves a marked 'ducking' in the volume of synth pads which shows up after the beat has been recorded into Studio One. The effect in question is almost like an unwanted sidechain compression, although it doesn't seem tied to the kick rhythm. I've a few theories about what could be causing the issue (long kick tails or issues with the sound design of the pad), however thus far I've not been able to find a satisfactory solution. It's also possible that the problem is being caused after by Studio One or Audacity after the beat leaves the SP404 (so to speak); for the sake of thoroughness is there anything I can do in-the-box to minimise the likelihood of this ducking effect showing up on future beats?

Many thanks in advance for any assistance that's offered!
