An old guy just came into the record store I work at trying to get rid of a reel to reel so I took it off his hands. Can't wait to see what kinda sweet tape warble and grit I can get outta this thing, I definitely have a learning curve ahead of me tho haha anyone else here using a reel to reel? If so how does it compare to cassette in your experience? I'm hoping the sound justifies spending money on fairly pricey 1/4" tape

Not sure how easy it is to get blank reel to reel tape, how easy/hard it will be to use in your music, but you scored a beauty!

If you're looking for grit, you'd be better off with a simple cassette recorder with some 90 min overdubbed tapes.

The reels I've used, especially from TEAC, sound super clean.
The thing that was a super pain, but kinda fun, was cutting and splicing together tape segments for edits.

Have fun with it though. Enjoy. Don't let it collect dust.
