Well, define "professional" and "actual" hip hop. :?

EQ, Compression and Tape Saturation can go a long way if you take the time to experiment. Grab some breaks and chop them up into their individual components (kick, snare, hat) and fuck around with different effects.

Find a cheap tape deck (if you don't already have one) and slam some tape with a break or two and bring that back into your SP and continue with step 1 (i.e. keep fucking around)

After a while you might come across some sounds that you like, but keep experimenting. If you do hit on something that you think sounds dope, keep it and use it. Don't second guess yourself thinking that something doesn't sound "professional" or "like anything else I've heard". If you're making shit you think is cool, fuck it have fun.

The easiest thing to do is to sample already existing breaks.

If you really want to make dope beats, study actual drumming techniques. Watch tutorials and interviews of drummers.

Very interesting, especially the explanation of the relationship between the body motion and the feeling of the beat.
Some good material to sample too 8)
