Just curious if anyone else out there does this? I've got a cassette deck that was given to me by a family member, the thing is beat to shit and can't come anything close to a 'quality' recording. Despite that, the dirt and rawness it adds to beats is mind blowing; audio dips, random frequency drop outs, mad hiss & noise & a bunch of other shit.

It adds something to the music that's unique, nobody can recreate the sounds from this exact machine which is one of the main reasons I keep it around!

I love this idea. Keep doing what you're doing!

Yeah, I have a 505 that I bought off ebay and it has several issues.

For example, the third control knob that specifies certain effect parameters is faulty and it twitches around and gradually changes the knobs position on the effect parameter. It's cool for creating an unpredictable and dynamic motion in the effects section. Especially for how static some of the effects are on these samplers it gives them a new life.

Bounced TVDiNNER through a very wonky/warbly tape player once. Totally messed up the original mix and I loved it.
I've used circuit bent equipment before, and some weird battery-nudging tricks on casio keyboards is a must.

100% back the idea, you can always find use for equipment even if it's gone to shit.

2nd! Gonna bust out a couple of buggered guitar peddles now & see what they yield.
