i chuck the trem/pan effect on what sample i want, then resample in stereo like 10 hits in one go and pick which ever one is farthest left/right and chop that out afterwards.

unfortunately (to my knowledge) there's no way to have it sit left or right continuously. at least not on the 303 or 404..

also... set the effect to the 'slowest rate' and the 'widest pan'
...and 'pan' not 'trem' haha

theres also the trick where you plug one lead out of the input when you record, itd have to be in stereo though so your basically taking up 2 spaces of the polyphony just for a single drum hit!

I was just gonna say this! The two spaces of poly remains an issue if you use the MFX6 anyway... but this way surely is faster than randomly hitting in the hopes of getting it panned hard then having to set mark points and delete.

(Get an 808 and you have 4 pad stereo poly resampling :) )
