Sony MDR7506 are amazing. i've been mixing on krk studio monitors for a while and then when i got these headphones i realized all my mixing has been wrong. probably the best thing i've bought for music other than my SP.

A general advice is to use open headphones for mixing and mastering because you wont get reflections from the plastic surrounding the membrane ( sorry i dont know the correct word in english) and the Membrane can swing freely so transient and impulsive signals sound clearer. A drawback is that you need a quiet surrounding for mixing because you will hear every exterior sound and the music you listen to through the headphones will also be heard outside the headphones :)
