Hello SP members,

I'm having problems with organization samples in a saved format.
I currently have all banks loaded with samples a total of 120. I sampled str8 from wax majority are drums breaks or small 2 bar loops.

I just want to store my old sounds and move on to the next 120. Then load my backup folders when needed.

Here what I've done thus far:

I excuted the Save backup to bank A pad 1.

My compact flash card still has over 128 mb unused.

I tranfered the folder to my Laptop. So I wouldn't deleted all my sounds by accidently trail and error.

I then deleted the sounds off my SP once the auto load booted.
I used the Delete all samples function: Cancel+DEL->Bank [A]-[F/J]->Del

So now all my banks are blank again for me to start sampling again. Which is great.

But When I shut the SP down and Load the Backup from Bank A pad 1 no sounds the pads are still blank.

So I then went back to transfer the O.G. folder with sound from my Laptop I get my sounds back.

How can I fix this?

Sorry if it's may be minor to you all but I use the sp with my MPC1000 and organizing folders and sounds on the MPC1K is simple.

I'm sorry I forgot to mention I'm using the SP 404. So how do you all save your sounds on the SP 404 once you full up all the banks?

what i do:

i do the export (p 39 of manual)
if the card fills up and i can't export all the card's sounds,
i just back up to the PC what did get backed up,
then delete those wavs and put the card back into the SP
to grab the rest of the samples

so you should end up with all the samples listed as D_05 etc
i put all those into a folder on my PC
then drag all the pattern files (ie DCOPTN072 etc) into the same folder

then i intialise the card so there's room for new songs
and can load the old samples, patterns onto the card if i want them later

hope that helps

EDIT: also, i don't back up Banks A & B ...i keep general drum and synth sounds in there for live jamming
and use the card's banks for producing
