i might be interested in getting a second 404 for live shows but i would also be interested in copping a 303.

the 303 takes compact flash memory right?? you can't buy that anymore locally but i've searched and there are still loads of places on the net that sell the cards.

basically i want to have my "live" setup as two turntables, mixer and a 303 and 404.

but for actual studio use is there any advantage of having the 2 of these machines or would i be better to spend my money on maybe another synth or something.

oh yeah and how much should i be willing to pay for a 303? i'll probably go through ebay but i hate bidding wars so i'll probably end up emailing the seller with an offer of about 20pounds more then the normal resale value.

the 303 (and the 202) takes smartmedia cards which are harder to find than compact flash. It's possible to find them, though.

Word, that's why I said it was possible. I don't have a 303, just a 202. The 202's manual says that it can only handle up to 4MB smart media cards, and those are hard to find. I've never tried to find 64MB cards because I didn't want to spend money on something I don't know for sure will work when I could buy records with that loot. I never really needed more than 4MB plus internal memory on my 202.

Actually, it will get more difficult each day as shops' stock runs out;

http://search.superwarehouse.com/?query ... ct%20flash

As you can see, it has lots of brands that say already say 'discontinued' and that's for the 512MB Compact Flash cards which aren't even all thát old yet.

The ones where it says 'Please Call' as far as availability are brands that will also be discontinued very soon, so they can't give any proper guarantees for those as far as availability goes. The one brand that still is available might be one of which they simply had a massive amount in stock.

I don't think it's easy to get a hold of these cards, even if sóme internet shops still list them.

In fact, it wouldn't surprise me a lot if it turns out to not even be possible to get the Edge Memory 512MB there anymore eventhough it's still listed.

Anyone know where to find 4MB smartmedia cards for my 202 besides ebay? I only have one and I'd like an extra one or two. I've never found them online or in a store before. They are always listed online as "out of stock".

Holy shit that one's expensive. I found this one on ebay and I bid on it. Hopefully motherfuckers don't snipe that shit out at the end.

http://www.consolesandgadgets.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1772

and also would there be any ADVANTAGE for actually having a 404 and a 303?
like what does the 303 have that the 404 doesn't??

All you have to worry about is if it's 3.3v and no bigger than 64mb.
