Sorry if this is known already:

In delete mode only one sample can play at a time.

Obviously you can't record in delete mode, so, what this is good for:

1. If you are recording to another device/sampler acts as a mute group (cool if you are rocking 2 sp's)
or
2. Trying out samples before marking/chopping

Dunno, kinda limited use but it was fun to play about with anyway, try it! (but make sure you don't delete all your shizz by accident  )

Sorry i'll try explain better. Im sure you will know.
Press [DEL] - pads in the bank will flash (Delete mode)
now when you select the pad to be deleted, it will play, instead of pressing [DEL] again to delete the sample, play others, the pad playing will stop and the pad pressed will play.

im using 404sx btw

Alright cool, glad it will get some use, and glad you like it!

I'm soon getting a 303 off a friend and was thinking of different ways to use it together with my 404, so yes the trick is designed with akimbo sp's in mind.

Hey guys,
When using samples not in gate mode (best way) its best to have a blank pad in the bank too, you can use this to stop sounds playing.

peace

Alright, I think we got most of the different smilies now. haha.

Yeah, this trick doesn't work on the 303 either. Can someone confirm for certain it works on OG 404? I don't have one to check, i'm just presuming that it does.

I can confirm it works on the OG 404 as well as the SP-555.

I like how you can do multiple taps on the same pad and retain loop mode. Usually, you have to take loop mode off and then quickly hit it for the same effect.
