I have a SanDisk Ultra Extreme 1 Gig, and it has been great.

(also have a few of the Ultra II's, but you've got it listed  )

No solo basta con la marca, también deberían especificar la velocidad de las tarjetas, osea por recomendación que sea de "133x" si eres alguien que juega bastante con los dedos.

I just downloaded and installed a firmware update for my SX (go to RolandUS) , and that fixed a compatibility problem with a SanDisk Ultra 8GB. I could not get it to format until I did the update.

Roland 1gb compact flash works great with my 404. I was really gonna be pissed if it didn't (same company and all).I was using a Transcend 1gb (80x), but had issues with it.

I bought a sp 404 recently and had trouble with my cf cards. The 1GB Delkin cf doesn't work and the sandisk 1 GB doesn't work. They will format but the sampler reads them as empty when they are not. I want to know if there is something wrong with my machine or if it's really that finicky with the type of card. I noticed a few people saying the transcend cf works but they're are a few different types; Transcend CF ultra 1g industrial, 133X Compact Flash Card Transcend 1GB..I keep ordering them online finding the right card, if someone could help me with specifics that would be awesome!!!

I can confirm that a Sandisk 32gb class 4 works on a SP 404 sx.
Without any need for a update.

Hello! I'm new to the SP-Forums.

For my SP-404SX, I use:

Kingston 16GB Class 6 (ultimate 100K) [SD6G2/16GB] - Blue with starfish label.

LX Series 32GB Class 10 [PSF32GSDHC10-PC] - Black with 'P' logo

The 32GB card takes forever to reformat, the 16GB only takes a minute or two.

I have had no skipping on my Class 6 & Class 10 cards. No skipping on the included Roland 2GB card as well.

Any hints as to which Class is better? I assume "Class" is "Speed".. Does it matter?

On my SP-555:

I use the Roland edition 2GB card and

SanDisk Ultra II 2.0GB CF card [BE070804957B]
