Hi. I can't turn my 404 on - Tried both adapter and batteries, nothin works. I did try to connect another adapter (which maybe isn't the best idea) to it and all i got was an "F" on the display with the mic lid on.

Please help if you have any idea that can help me...

I would take it back to the store. They have the proper adapters there (maybe yours is broken). If it still won't work ask them to send it in. Roland is pretty quick (1 week)

Well, even though my adapter doesn't work, it should still be able to work on batteries - it doesn't. Guess I have to bring it back to the store then...

- I had a problem when I put some new rechargable batteries in my 404. After ages thinking it was bust, I realised that the contact on the battery wasn't touching the contact on the 404. I've added a couple of pieces of Alcan/metal foil to bridge the contacts and everything is working OK.

So i returned it to the store today. I actually could turn the machine on before that but it only said "FEO" on the display and i couldn't do anything. So what you think - Will Roland it get repaired, give me a new one or maybe get me my money back (wanna buy that sp-606 - looks hot with usb and a display, kinda miss those features)...

you'll def. not get your money back. They prolly repair it.

the 404 is a great machine once you get used to it
