ive had a quick look at the manual & it doesnt mention this so im presuming it cant do it but...

does the SP allow you to record a sample when either sending or recieving a midi clock signal??

The 404 cant send any midi... but as far as recieving... im not sure. Ive never tried. I would think no.

SP's are pretty much one task at a time, everyone would love it if you do things like sample a new sound during a loop or pattern playback. oh well

TBH thats the only thing that is atracting me to the 555... but i can get a second hand 404 for about £160 and the 555 cheapest new is £350.. so a BIG price differance... ive got a little multitrack zoom thing.. I could just record things to that synced with the Boss and them record em back into the 404...

555 is tempting tho
