hello everyone! (that's for introduction ;))
I'm almost sure to get one of the sp404s, I've read the manual, seen some videos on youtube and checked some reviews on the net.
I'm sure that stuff will be suitable for me - little diggin man, with hundreds of vinyls and tons of drum samples ;)
However - I got few questions:
- is it possible to work with more than one memory card? what I mean is - can I keep drum samples on one card, load them to the sp, switch the card to another one (ie. blank) record some samples from the wax, chop 'em, arrange 'em, ya know the deal and THEN save my work on this card? the manual says that I can't change CF's during sp operation (on the other hand - reading PDF manuals sucks, so I might be wrong) - if not - is there any other way?

- can I copy samples between pads/patterns? or do I have to resample sound from one pad to another (or can I resample to more than one pad at one time?)

I hope that everything that I had written is (quite) clear :)

thanks in advance people :]

one more thing - untill I visited this forum I was thinking about buying the overpriced mpc500, but now I'm sure (after answering my questions ;P) to buy the SP

yeah you can. you would have to take a sound saved to the card and save it into the internal memory (bank A or B). and you would not have to switch cards while the sp is on (even though i do) .

you can resample many pads onto one pad. Its good for layering sounds or you can create a loop onto a pad.

aight, basicly - it's better to record all samples, make a project and save it and finally copy it to the pc (or whatever) than switch the cards (and risk some damage)

ok, got it, but can I resample one pad to many pads (at one time - it's obvious that I can do it separately ? :)

thanks for the answers

what i meant was resample your samples to bank a or b. Bank A and B are the sp404s internal memory. then you can use ur new card with the sounds in the internal memory.

and the answer to your second question no
