Peace
This might be a dumb question but what is exactly 12 polophony.Does that mean if i make a pattern i can only use 12 pads at the same time?Or if not all 12 notes are hit the same time im still alright? Also what if u use different samples banks on different pattern?

Another quick question does anyone know the sample rate on LO-FI mode?
thanks and sorry for the retard question

polyphony is the number of voices the 404(or any device) can produce simultaneously. and im sure that you can use any sample bank on any pattern.

Although I would also like to know the sample rate of Lo-Fi mode. Unless its still 16 bit but mono?

On a side note, ive really been digging the lo-fi sampling mode on drums. especially fattening up a stereo sample with EQ and subsonic, and then crunching it...

Sampling Frequency on the sp-303:

STANDARD (44.1 kHz)/LONG (22.05 kHz)/LO-FI (11.025 kHz)

Im assuming its the same on the 404?

It boils down to the number of voices it can use at the same time a stereo sample uses 2 voices a mono sample uses 1 voice (that why I like to keep my drums mono, as well as my bass notes). So basically 12 mono samples can be played at the same time, or 6 stereo samples, or 3 stereo and 6 mono, or .. well I'm sure you got the picture by now :-)
