This a tutorial I made on how to get your songs on the computer using Garageband! Hopefully this helped for some people.

VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CRHw3PTPg8

Maybe make this a sticky for new members coming?

EDIT: recently re-made the tutorial for everyone, sorry it took so long. HOPE THIS HELPS!

Send Keesj a PM and see if he'll add it to the S.P.I.

does this set up record in stereo?

If I were to use the headphone output of the sp into the computer would it record in stereo? Or should I get that chord?

You can use the headphone out to get stereo.

Use what you have around you but I'd suggest picking up that 1/8" stereo to RCA 'y' cable. The bad thing about the SP samplers is that the input/output jacks tend to wear out so if you use only one set of jacks there's gonna be more wear on them.

hey I followed your directions to connect my sp to garageband but it says the MIDI is not detected when i check Garageband>Preferences>Audio/MIDI. When I look at the computer system preferences, I can see that the computer is receiving sound through the input next to the headphone jack on the side of my macbook. I don't understand why garageband is not picking anything up. Can somebody help me out? Thanks!

I restarted my computer and now it works!! I plugged my Y cord from the SP's output into the input next to the headphone jack and now Garageband is picking it up. Easy solution but thanks for the help!

I have had the sp404 for awhile and have recorded performances but cannot seem to find them on the card. I want to record them straight to my lappy hp-pavillion dv4. I have ableton live which I haven't become very comfortable with , serato, and virtual dj. Is there a way to get a clear sounding recording through these products without garage band?

^ you need to export your recordings/samples to get them as wav sounds on the card...

hold cancel+press resample twice
select your recordings
press rec again and bam...
