Hi everybody out here!

I'm trying to control the SP with a pad controller cause I like them pads better, plus they're velocity sensitive... so great to get that SP404 sound with velocity pads! :D

Thing is, when I hit, say, B2, bank A's pad 1 plays back. Everything plays fine, the counterpart SP pad lights up. If I wanna put any effect, move start/end points, gate/loop the shit, it will affect the last pad you touched on the SP.

That's a bit disappointing, since I love to use these parameters in performance, and I don't see the fun of having a pad controller besides if I still have to hit SP's pads to control effects & stuff on it.

Would there be a MIDI solution, or at least a workaround to that? I know not much on MIDI stuff, but I noticed there's scripts in Ableton that change controllers behaviours, maybe there's a way SP can do it too... !?

Thanks!

Maybe you need to get the Roland UM-ONE.
I don't use other things to control my 404sx but I do use the UM-ONE to sync my sp to my cpu.
I'm sure it has the functionality to use midi controllers to control the 404.

Just got half of a solution so I guessed I'd let you guys know!

Works for the effects, holding remain + any pads lets you choose which pad you wanna put the effect on.
So at least now I can play on my padKontrol with velocity sensitivity and put an effect on the pad I want, even though I didn't trigger it from SP pads!

I found this in the manual... so I guess I should have known this already but anyway if anyone else is as noob as me then they'll know this.

Cheers
