hey y'all - been away from my box for awhile after my 404 literally FRied, but now
been having a blast discovering the pattern mode (!) and MIDI hook up to the TR-8. recently watched some new youtube vids and peeped how guys are using the HOLD button instead of what i do which is LOOP. yet now im trying to test it out and my HOLD button just wont even go on? tell me im missing something obvious....i dont wanna take this into the shop.
peace, and thanks

you can use the pattern sequencer with quantize off and record your performance and bounce out and back in for more fx and layering. This method also allows you to mix and change pads while keeping your performance pattern in tact.If you just resample you lose the ability to change anything without having to redo stuff.
Best of both worlds:)
