I am used to speeding up or slowing down samples on the Mpc 2000- where both the tempo and pitch change accordingly. Is there anyway to do this on the Sp?

When I change the tempo, it sounds choppy and distorted.. any suggestions?

Thats the missing feature on the 404. You gotta speed stuff up b4 u sample it. By changing the tempo, do you mean on your sample or on the sequencer ?

That my friend is one of the major flaws of the SP-404 but as well is a blessing in disguise because it makes you not just grab any old sample and flip it. I have found myself having to dig a lil harder or at least chop a lil harder because of this lack there of. But it works(pitch shift) not too bad for drums but I feel you on the distortion.

You can work around it by chopping the sample and using the sequencer to play the separate parts, MPC style, I believe, no???
