thank you nym it finally worked! turned out i had to unsync the 404 to the midiclock in order for it to work!

it controls the sp404 from the mpc. nice for setting a bunch of samples on the sp404 pads and making a pattern on the mpc, then applying an effect to the whole bank of the sp404 and tweaking them live.

i cant get this to work i unsynced 404 as mentioned .nothing happens. sync out is on on the mpc. aint i supposed to be able to trigger 404 samples now?

did you make sure to load the 404 program file in the mpc?

heheh ,good one. yes i have solved the problem i needed to use "midi" instead of "drum" and enable midi channel 3a for some reason. well it works now. cheers

midi channel 3a? do you have a 2500 or something?
its on 3a because you got your sp-404 connected to midiport 3 and A on your mpc ;) (look on the back)

by the way i never understood this drum/midi option i always use drum mode and i can record midi with it as well...
