Hi everyone

When I turn on the sampler and hit Pattern Sequencer, the BPM is always set to 102bpm. Is there any way to change this to something else?

I use it live and sometimes forget to change the BPM so there's long gaps between samples which sounds really amateur.

It's driving me insane trying to work it out. I guess I must have changed it at some point, why else would it be 102bpm?

Thanks guys, great forum
Dave

there is no way you can change that, only if it is undocumented or if you make your own os for sp and which is unlikely :D

um.. wouldn't it be possible to delete all original patterns and set anew one at diff tempo. then u just lock it down. on pg.43 of the manual!! then again maybe this won't work, just a thought. and even if it did work u would just be stuck with that new tempo upon bootup.

I know most, maybe all MPC's load up with the tempo set to 120bpm.. maybe on the newer mpc's it can be changed, but I have no clue why its set to that either. maybe they're trying to appeal to techno heads? lol

Reason, Ableton and Cubase load with 120bpm as the standard too

The 606 has the bpm locked to whatever the currently selected pattern is; I would assume the 404 is similar....so, as has already been suggested, why not make a pattern (blank or otherwise) at the desired tempo?

And btw I'm a teknohed and 120bpm is WAY too slooooooooow for techno  unless it's that boring detroit stuff...
