I just picked up an SP-404 a few days ago and I have a question about resampling. Is there an easy way to resample so the new sample is the exact length of the original sample? Basically I want to create an exact copy of a sample, but with effects added. Doing it the way the manual describes requires readjusting the endpoint, which can take up a lot of extra time to get it perfect.

Nope, you'll have to adjust it manually. That's why I only use resampling to add fx to a sample never to make a copy. On the other hand; practice makes perfect :-). I remember how I found it awkward to edit start and end points of a sample on the 404 but now I'm so used to it, I can edit a sample faster on my 404 than on my mpc 2kxl.

That's what I thought. Thanks. I guess I'll just have to get good at trimming my start and end points.
