New 404(sx) multi-track export tool needs beta testers...

Hi guys,

I made a little tool for the 404 community... what it does:

Exports 404SX (no OG yet) patterns as individual tracks, so you can easily continue working on them in the DAW. Has a few options like normalizing, looping more than once, keeping tails of samples beyond loop endpoint, naming patterns, etc.

I'd be happy to find a few beta testers. The first version is Windows-only. If anyone's interested, I can send you a zip. Once I know this works on other machines and not just mine, I'll post it for the public. Also, this project is fully open-source, source code will follow after beta test!

I'd test, but only got the OG and a Mac..... So I'm pretty useless

looks wicked , can you please explain what the program does, and how you endup with full exported multi tracks, also don't mean to snoop,
but what languages are you using to program this?,

yo I sent out the link. One more thing, when you want to load your SP project (File->Load in the app), go to your memory card (or your hard drive) and select the SP404SX folder inside the ROLAND folder. Later on I'll build in some auto-resolving in case you hit the ROLAND folder or your SD card directly...

@JACK BURTON: can you send me an example project from your 404 OG? Like the complete folder. The format differences seem minimal, so it's just a little work (mostly different names for the samples and pattern files). Also, Mac version is just a matter of recompiling it on a Mac, so Ill do that in the next days!

@tape_smoke: I parse the pattern, pad info and STPINFO (contains song bpm) files... shout out to the "hacking 404" guys for backwards engineering most of it... then I open and read the samples and write them out track by track as they appear in the pattern, taking into account things like loop, gate, reverse, velocity of the pattern, velocity of the pad... it's programmed in C++ (11) using QT for the UI and a few extra libraries for reading/writing wav/aiff...

Anyway as soon as I get some feedback, I'll add a license to the source code so everyone who likes can change/contribute/download. For the nerds: The non-gui parts are held in plain C++ (11) with dependencies only to boost and libsndfile.

Sure if you upload a zip of an example 404 OG project (incl. folder structure) and send me a link, Ill see if I can make it work, I think there's just a few naming differences...

I am interested- have Win8x64, Win7x64, and XP SP3 machines available (and a Mac too 10.7)

right now I have issues with getting it to run on newer 64 bit windows machines, so please be patient for a while until I have more time to investigate! Also, I got an example OG project and will try to incorporate :-)
