Anyone knows a solution to this? I have the following problem. I have a SP-404 and want to use it to arange guitar parts for my band. I can't seem to find how to get the tempo right. I can do this 2 ways but i don't know how

1) Hear the metronome while playing guitar and record that as a sample

2) After that, play the recorded sample while recording a new one (a solo for example)

Anyone experience with this?

How about recording to your computer...editing the files there...making sure they all match in tempo...then sequence them in the 404?

That works but then there's no reason to use the 404 at all..

Sure there is... to sequence the parts. And to bring a cheaper more portable solution for playing live. These are tools. The easiest tool for the job is what matters. I don't think the 404 is the best tool for this job.

Got ya... How about one long take of the guitar trying to play at a constant tempo... resample it a bunch of times...then chop out the pieces you need?

Still very difficult to stay exactly in the right tempo. There's got to be a way to hear the sp404's metronome or another recorded sample while recording a new one? If not, there's no use for me using it...

You could buy a cheap external metronome thing. Or if you have a computer around, use some program as a metronome (WinBPM, Fruityloops, whatever)

I know but i think it's rediculous if the SP-404 doesn't have an option for that...

there is a nice function. hit record, hit the pad, an then hit time/bpm and choose your bpm with the ctrl 2 knob. audio will be stretched/or whatever to the bpm u chose. but rly sucks that u can`t hear a metronome or sum drums while recording...
