well, i got my sp 404 2 days ago. i was just curious to know if theres any easy ways of using more than one effect at once? right now ive been putting on an effect, resampling, putting on another effect, resampling and so on.... can somebody please run me through how they work the effects around their samples? thanks!

It seems to me like you got it; if you want to use multiple effects at the same time then you need to resample the sounds with the one effect and afterwards aply more effects to your liking.I'm still learning to use the effects myself tts I don't use that many effects (I have a few favourites that I use all the time) but I use 'em in a very subtle way; to enhance the sound not to change it completely... did that make sense ? The really dramatic effects like the DJ looper or whatever it's called are still completely unknown to me; I mostly use the compressor and the eq to match the different sounds in my sequences and to eleiminate frequency clashes.

I'm sure you're on the right path, just make sure to read up on the manual (it's not that big) and more importantly read these forums 'cause there is a lot more you can do with that little beatie than the manual tells you. Don't get decieved by the first impressions; the possibilities of these little boxes are endless once you master 'em and have developed a good workflow.
