All I gotta say is the 202 Is the King of the SP series!!!4 note polyphony ill filters, no sequencer ,dope pitch and crunchy lo-bit magic!Who can ask for anything more! The sound of the 202 is amazing to me I cant get over the RAW dirt it produces!

plus one. i'm certainly no beatjitzu on the 202 (and i'm STILL listening to hindu kush!), but i find the 202 knocks harder than my other sp's.

this lil track was assembled in a multitracker, but everything except the guitar is off the 202:

there's just something about the texture it adds that i can't get enough of.

I almost bought one in 2000 or so-but that's when I discovered the zoom sampletrak and I copped that instead-they were in the same price range, but the zoom could/can do so much more. I can't wait to get another one to go with my 404..Love that fucking machine- I've never understood why sp's don't have the same kind of turntable style pitch function.I made the huge mistake of punching mine when some butons started failing me and killed it about a year and a half ago. I would like to get a 202 to sample drums with though too possibly, along with the filters, etc for samples-sounds like it's the closest you can get to a sp-1200.Besides the st!

"to bad mine got stolen along with my 303 and asr x a couple year ago, "

That's horrible..fuck, I would have been depressed and homicidally pissed for months.I used to have an asr and then an eps-always wanted to fuck with the asrx. These machines are definitely slept on.

ASR-X's are ok..the sequencer is so bugged out..A fully loaded ASR-X midi'd to an MPC 1k would be a sweet combo!!

The only bad thing about this sampler is locating the memory cards. But other than than that, it's not meant to have it's own sequencer. (it's got a Midi in jack, so find a drum machine and you're in business) It's limited on effects/polyphony, but so what? It's a classic. I had one back in the day. And even though I'm scoring 2 sp303's, if I found a sp202 with at least 2 memory cards thrown in, I'd have to consider it if the price was right.

I just recently finished some pure 202 beats. If anyone wants to hear, let me know.
