I never had this problem in the 12 years I've owned my 202. I was sampling something earlier and then in the middle of playback the display read "0" and then proceeded to delete a drum break I had saved (without me touching anything) and a few other samples sounded heavily distorted soon after. Three samples were unaffected, however. I was worried that my 202 was fried but I deleted and re-recorded my loops and now all is well. I just never had that happen to me before.

Second, is it hazardous to unplug the power source of the 202 while it's powered on and batteries are installed? I did this accidentally the other day.

S'all good, these boxes do that from time to time. You lose you samples and vow to do it better than what you lost. I don't know about unplugging it while on with batteries, but I wouldn't worry.
