Hi,
I received a SP-202 and after using it for a few hours (continuous) last night the samples seem to randomly drop out (sample time remaining) and I get the high pitch sound that I have read others complaining about.
My main concern is when I was trying to use it with batteries it will not power on.

Wondering if this has anything to do with the internal battery?

Also, seeing how old these units are, has anyone actually changed the internal battery? I read every post in this forum (sp-202 & sp-505) before I signed up (that was three hours of confusion), and the only internal battery question was deleted.
thanks.

Apparently the jokes on me.

This is for future searchers concerning an internal battery.

Without desoldering the wires to dis-connect the two boards and unscrew the top board, I don't believe there is an internal battery in the sp 202 unless it is hidden on the top board (which would be highly unlikely).

As for the unit not powering up with batteries. The prongs from the battery "department" press against two pads on the board, my board had small indentations where the prongs press against. prying the prongs out a bit fixed the problem.

Opening the case only consisted of removing the four screws on the back panel.

Tech Tip: When screwing the screws back in turn them to the left (like you are loosening them) until they fall in their groove, then tighten, that way they don't strip the plastic.
