Hey guys.
I just got my driving license, and tought i celebrate it with a smart media card. I found a place, where they sell 0.5 mb 5v smart media card for 10$ + shipping. They claim it is made for the sp-202 amd it even has some samples for it...but it looks like the same card as those fake ones. I ordered one before i realized it, but can not cancel...i wrote an email for them but did not get an answer as well...so do you think it will work? Or they market it with the sp-202 so some asshole like me will buy some? If it does not work, i gonna selly sp-202...slowly the 2-4mb cards will cost more than the actual stuff....
Thanks,
Pete

I'm afraid we are at that point now. I tried to type 5.5volt Smart Media card in my browser. What pops up? Plenty of 3volt cards from 2-128mb, but any 5.5volt cards in that list? Nope. Very frustrating! Tried the same thing on Amazon. Again, no 5.5 volt cards for sale. I guess this means, to get these cards, you may end up buying a 2nd, 3rd, possibly 4th SP202, because you're just going to have to buy any 202 where a card is thrown in.

"But why would I want 2 or more 202's?", you may ask yourself? Hey, you already enjoy your current 202. If you had a 2nd, you can bounce samples back and forth for lots of grit. You can have one setup to your dvd or vcr player, and sample weird sounds or movie phrases. Have one setup next to a old school hi fi radio, and scan your area for weird sounds. Choice is yours! And, at least you'd be getting a memory card included in the deal. If you're very lucky, 2 cards or more are included, but, somehow I doubt it...

Sometimes you can buy shit old cameras that come with smart media cards... That's my best tip. Sometimes you could get 5 cards at a time

serious question, why do people want these cards? they only play one sample at a time and half the FX are disabled. the only good thing i can think of maybe is the sample backup/recall function to refill your AB banks for more longevity in live sets (if you got a nice 5 minute break for the transfer, that is)

i got a 202 with a Roland 2MB SM Card.

Honestly... i could live without it (no i won't sell it  ).

the only pro with a Memorycard for me is the longer sampling-time and the ability to use four Banks instead of two... But like others said, you can only Trigger one sample at a time and some fx won't even work on samples on bank c/d. So it's not really that useful..

i'll never sell my Card just because it's nearly impossible to find them at a good Price...
