Mv8000 fader/slider repair.

Hi, a couple of my faders are a bit jumpy. When i move them, they go correct till 40, after 40, they tend to jump a bit. Lets say the fader is on 90, the fader gets jumpy and moves on screen to 93,91,90,89,92,91. etc.

Is it possible that i clean the fader and get rid of the problem. Or is the fader dead and needs replacement.?

I dont have a slider problem but my data wheel jumps like that. Try blowing some compressed air into the slider slot, or some contact spray.

Contact spray should NEVER be used. This is a short term solution and ruins the fader, things will eventually get more worse.

I already cleaned it with a ear stick. Made it flat to fit into the slider. No result.

I would like to know if the faders can be opened easily for inside cleaning of the contact lanes.

No one else is experienceing these problems?

Yeah, whatever makes dirt stick even easier is a double no-no, but a regular wipe with anti dust cloth or vacuuming the inside is a good idea.

So far I haven't had any issues.

As for your question, if you want to get to it, you're pretty much out of luck when it comes to an 'easy way' of doing so. You'll have to take it apart pretty much entirely. But... judged by the issue you seem to have, it might be worth it. It does mean taking out most of the guts of the MV though.
