hold up, you can just copy the audio patch and it keeps the loop stretched. I never did it, i usually resample the stretched loop to a patch. Copying is much easier. I got a MV 8000, maybe your on the 8800 and thats one of the tiny things they fixed, oh, i mean added. Dam Roland. I just use patches as well. Audio phrases dont make much sense when you realize all the things you can do with audio patches.

So, i use patches for 99% of my MV'ing - I know about audio phrases, I guess my understanding is that they are stretchable/bpm sync'able and better for long samples.

The only way I've been using it is for example, copy a drum loop to audio phrase, beat sync it / pitch then copy to a patch pad and have a synched up loop....What else does it allow?

It allows for very clean bpm synced or time-stretched beat or song remixes and very accurate sample loops. It's excellent for very sample heavy remix stuff actually.. Also useful for external instruments you sample into the MV, like guitar, keys and vocal stuff.

It's not that easy taking most advantage of that feature though, but this video should give you an idea (be sure to watch it all the way through lol); http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdr0_fbXniY
