Long time not talk (@most of you).

Just letting everyone know I just picked up an MV-8800, with the expanded RAM, a monitor, and a mouse for $1,000 USD, barely used, pretty much brand new.

Now... I have a very, very long road ahead of me learning this machine. I'll be up in here asking questions, so look for me, and show me love.

Congrats on that deal man, you're going to like that machine a lot for sure! Be sure to mess with it every day the first few weeks though, you'll figure most of it out in close to no-time.

Of course, if you've got questions, feel free to post here or PM me. Every new MV user makes me smile, every knowledgeable MV user makes this MPC-minded world of hardware samplers a better place. ;)

Sorry for the usual rant about the MV, but I really think the MV is still very much underrated in this world of MPC users. :P

Glad to see you got yourself some great new gear. What you gonna do with that 505?

well.. the 505's pads 1-4 went out. I fixed the output. I also have a broken 404, and a korg electribr esx-1 that is brand new.

I'll probably sell all of them. I need a synth.

But anyway. Yeah, so I've only had a chance to mess with the MV for a couple hours. But I've learned quite a bit. I just need some time away from work where I can really get to work on it. Can't wait until I get a few beats down!

Yeah, I still need one too, even though I've got a few soundmodules now that also have reasonable synth sounds. I don't have a true synthesizer either. (Except for perhaps the bass synth in the MV, but while useful for bass lines that's not a full blown synth).

Keep us posted about what you decide to get, I'd be interested to know.
